solutions
At giant, we’re here to help you and thousands of other independent contractors make the most of your income. With the IR35 changes in April 2020 this has never been more important.
April 2020 IR35 changes
If you are trading through your own limited company, the decision on IR35 status has, until recently, always fallen on you - the contractor. However, from April 2020, your hirer will be responsible for making the IR35 status decision and not you.
Determining the IR35 status can be complex and looks at both the contract and actual working practices. Your hirer will also consider their financial and reputational risk of getting the decision wrong.
Depending on your hirers decision you may need to look at PAYE solutions such as umbrella and PEO employment or, if you are continuing to trade through your limited company, whether inside or outside IR35, a fee payer arrangement.
We very much hope that our website and range of services can help you understand your options allowing you to make the right decision.

giant umbrella
Are you looking for a compliant umbrella company? Has your hirer said that you must be employed by an umbrella company after the IR35 changes in April 2020? Do you want a solution that uses the latest mobile friendly interfaces to make your life easier? Do you want the ability to join online? Would you like to save £1000’s using an employee benefits scheme?
Our award-winning giant umbrella and giant advantage, our employee benefits scheme, may be your answer.

giant IR35 fee payer
If you are continuing to trade through your limited company after the IR35 changes in April 2020, you will require a ‘fee payer’ to pay your limited company.
The fee payer takes the HMRC financial risk of getting those payments correct with or without appropriate tax deductions, depending on your IR35 status.
Due to the risk many parties will not act as a fee payer. The giant IR35 fee payer takes away this risk.
With a smart mix of technology, expertise, compliance and care, you can benefit from our almost 30 years of award-winning specialist experience.

understanding your options from April 2020
If you are affected by the changes to IR35 from April 2020 you may be considering what your options are going forward. Has your hirer said that you are caught by IR35? Are you allowed to continue using your limited company? Has the hirer insisted that you go through an employment solution such as umbrella? Will your pay rate be changed? How will your net income be effected?
We understand that these decisions cause uncertainty and that you probably have quite a number of questions. We hope that this website answers most of these questions.
We have provided a summary of umbrella v PEO v fee payer options under the IR35 changes menu option.
whitepapers
We have a range of white papers to help you understand the off payroll working legislation which is driving the IR35 changes from April 2020.
In addition we have information on the good work plan which is a Government directive which includes recruitment agencies being required to issue much more detailed information to workers on their contractual arrangements and how and by whom they are being paid clearly showing any deductions.
We hope you find these useful.
